  • Good for infrequent or novice splinters.

  • Moderate memory helps hold the formed shape when reheated.
  • Makes smooth, sealed edges if cut when warm.

  • Provides a very sticky surface when warm and bonds without the need for solvents.

  • For easier handling, add liquid soap to water and keep thermoplastic damp while molding.

  • Can tolerate aggressive handling, resulting in a semi-glossy appearance.
  • If pressure or wrappings are removed while Omega™ Black is still warm, marks will disappear from the surface.
  • 1/8" thickness is recommended for larger areas, i.e. spasticity splints, lower extremity positioning splints, back supports and for serial static splinting.
  • 3/32" thickness makes excellent fitting wrist and hand splints.
  • Working Time (1/8")
  • Sets up in three to four minutes at 160° F (71°C). 
  • Sets up quickly, saving time when splinting frightened or non-compliant patients.
